Help end poverty in Africa

Why your donation matters

Your support will give real practical support directly where it is needed to real families struggling to survive in Africa.
Thanks to people like you, we were able to help more than 15,000 families last year to work their way out of poverty and hunger for good.So many of the families we start working with are struggling to eat even one meal a day. But we know that with the right support, families can start growing enough vegetables and crops not only to eat three times a day but so they have a surplus to sell to start earning an income. So we turn your donations into training to provide essential new knowledge and skills, and provide resources such as seeds, tools and livestock so people can have a brighter future. Donate now and help more families change their futures forever

Case study: donations in action

Your support will help more people like Nabuuma Bena from Uganda. She is a 25 year old widow with HIV/Aids, with 4 children. Before receiving help from Send a Cow, the family had to do back-breaking labour in other people's fields for something to eat. They were always hungry and lived in a dilapidated grass-thatched shelter. Then even that collapsed and the whole family were on the brink of death.

Then Nabuuma joined her local Send a Cow group. First we helped her build a new home and then she learnt about growing crops and looking after livestock. She received a cow that gives upto 12 litres of milk a day. This is enough for the family to drink and a surplus they can sell. She planted vegetables and now sells some of them too. She uses the income to buy medicine, school books, soap and salt.

Now the family has a good home, milk and an income. The children are healthy and all go to school. They are happy and have a bright future without the fear of hunger.
