Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. On July 6th, the "Send it to bend it" team (Graeme and Ian Starkey, Graham Sneddon and Scott Dixon) completed the Longest Day Golf Challenge, by all playing four full rounds of golf (i.e. 72 holes each in total), although we had to switch venues at the last minute, as the courses we had intended to play (Harburn, Dalmahoy West, Ratho Park and Bruntsfield) were waterlogged after the recent heavy rainfall. We are incredibly grateful to the Secretary of Gullane Golf Club, who allowed us to play all four rounds on the Gullane courses (Gullane 1, two rounds on Gullane 3, then Gullane 2) free of charge. Graeme, who fancies even more of a challenge, was going to run between the four courses (a total distance of about 18 miles), just to fill in the time between rounds of golf, but this additional challenge also had to be modified - he started his day with a 9.5 mile run, prior to being collected at 5.45am to be driven down to Gullane!
For you the task is much easier: sponsoring us by donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now. Every little helps:
£17.50 could pay for a member of a cancer support group to go on a social event with other support group members.
£51 could buy a liquidiser for someone who can't eat solid food as a result of their cancer or its treatment
£350 could pay for a convalescent break for someone with cancer and their carer.
£3,333 could keep a Macmillan cancer information and support centre stocked with all the information resources it needs to support people affected by cancer for a year.
Thank you for your generosity to cancer patients and their families.
Graeme, Ian, Graham and Scott
