Thanks
for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. This is my third marathon. I
ran the New York marathon in November 2002 and came home in plaster and on
crutches after pulling my achilles tendon. I did finish the marathon having
walked the last 10 miles. I managed a time of 5hrs 20 mins and together with my
sister we raised over £4,500 for terminally ill children.
In 2003 I ran the London Marathon in 4hrs 20mins - luckily no injuries
this time.
This year (7 years on and not quite so easy to train) I have chosen to support
Suffolk's Young Carers. It is important to know that I am paying for all my
costs (flights, hotel etc) myself and so every penny you donate will go to help
young people who spend their lives helping others. In Suffolk there are over
4,000 young carers, some as young as 6. Many of them take on the full
responsibility of shopping, cooking, cleaning, paying bills, looking after
siblings or parents, providing emotion as well as physical support. You can
find out more information from the Suffolk Family Carers website
www.suffolkfamilycarers.org
Please help me to raise £5,000 to provide these
young people with the funds to have some time to themselves, to meet other
children in the same situation, to have a short break and to be supported by a
great team at Suffolk Young Carers. Let's
give them a chance just to be children again.
