Shelter from the Storm is London's only free homeless shelter. Located in north London, we operate seven days a week, 52 weeks a year, providing in excess of 13,250 bed, breakfast and overnight accommodation places. And we don’t get a penny from the government.

Case study: donations in action

Meet Ajoke, one of our former guests. When Ajoke joined us, she had been rescued from sex trafficking. We provided a safe, caring environment in which to sleep and, as our guest, we supported her through her pregnancy and secured legal representation for her, which enabled her to gain leave to remain. She recently moved into her own flat but visits regularly - mother and baby are doing well.

Shelter from the Storm helps people get permanently off the streets. Not just by providing beds, food and a chance to wash and launder, but providing practical help and advice on housing and jobs. We provide therapy/ counselling/advice and have had some real success.
