In November 2009, I will be taking part in a trek through Borneo’s rainforest towards the Borneo Orangutan Survival (BOS) at the Nyaru Menteng sanctuary for a wonderful charity close to my heart WSPA (The World Society for the Protection of Animals) who funds this vital work and provides a home for Borneo’s endangered Orangutan. As a non-profit organization, every penny donated goes directly to help draw awareness to worldwide animal welfare as well as eradicating future cruelty.
On the 6 to the 16 of November, I will embark on the most terrifying experience of my life (as I have never been anywhere outside of the UK on my own!!) and join a group of likeminded volunteers to raise awareness, money and ultimately urge donations to this worthwhile charity. To do this, over the coming months, I am preparing myself to train hard; another terrifying experience as everyone who knows me knows that I have a severe aversion to physical exercise/activity
but nevertheless, I am fully happy, motivated and excited to succeed so this trek represents a huge step for me in not only growing my confidence but my physical ability too, so I hope that you will help my along the way and ultimately help WSPA continue the great work that they do.
Any amount, however big or small would be greatly appreciated not only by me and the WSPA but by the millions of suffering animals who are rescued and cared for; providing them with a far better quality of life than they are used to. Thank you for taking the time to listen and read my rambling speech and I hope that I have been able to convince you to help me raise funds for this deserving cause.
Thank you again for your continued support
