About Bendrigg
http://www.bendrigg.org.uk/index.htm
The Bendrigg Trust is a registered charity specialising in courses and activities for disabled and disadvantaged young people. Groups enjoy a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities and, at the same time learn a great deal about themselves and others. This is especially true when group members from different backgrounds share activities and facilities at the lodge.
Visiting groups benefit from the expertise of their tutorial staff. The emphasis is on confidence building and cooperation with others, regardless of the level of activity being undertaken, and attention is given to each groups' needs in the planning of the programme. Whatever the particular requirement and whatever the ability of the participants they are confident that we will be able to fulfil their aims and objectives.
Do visit their website where you can see some of the activities they so such as wheel chair abseiling !
Rachel and I feel strongly about giving opportunity to disabled and disadvantaged young people especially in the sports and fitness arena.

Pre Summit Training
We are amateur/novice mountaineers and therefore need training !
We will be training in Scotland enhancing our familiarity with crampon and Ice Axes before the Spring finishes.
Before Summiting we will be acclimatising and training for a further 8 days around Chamonix on how to avoid avalanches, crevases, falling, frost bite, polar bears and the French (joking).
Summit day starts in the dark, at some inhumane hour, followed by 13 hours of breathlesness before we return. This is where we get to see how fit we really are.
Rachels main concern before going on this trip is where she'll be able to plug her GHD's in!. Somehow I think priorites on summit day might change a little :)
Where does your donation go?
Apart from a small charge by justgiving.com your online donation (together with any gift aid) goes to the charity The Bendrigg Trust.
It's a really good cause, so please sponsor us. Would now be a good time ?
How much should you donate ? Anything would be just fine, whether it's £2 or more.. just what ever feels right for you.
Many thanks for your support.
Love
Rachel & Shane
