Shanzida was one of the first ever students in Bangladesh to study towards a bachelor degree in speech and language therapy. This course has been running since 2004 through the Bangladesh Health Professions Institute at the Centre for the Rehabilitation of the Paralysed (www.crp-bangladesh.org) and is affiliated with Dhaka University.
The intention for the scholarship fund is to enable a student/ students who would otherwise be unable to afford the full course fees, to be able to study the speech and language therapy course. This is to honour the memory of Shanzida and her hopes and dreams for the development of speech and language therapy in Bangladesh.
