So as many of you will know I wanted to raise some money for charity and I though I would do something humiliating as hopefully it will urge you to give more! I could have done a run but its not something I am particularly good at so I chose a hair shaving event would be more interesting.
I last cut my hair on June 12th 2009 (dont ask me why I remember that) and will not cut it till December the 1st 2010. So basically a year and half of uninterrupted growth. So yes I will look very silly, but that is why it is for charity. When I have my hair shaved it will be a wet shave as well, completely bald, and in winter too so it will be rather chilly!
Please give generously not, not because I asked you to or you feel you should but because Ukuthasa do a lot of great work in South Africa and you want to help. They have built many homes in the townships, homes that to us may seem very modest but to people who are used to sleeping in far from comfortable conditions, have been a life changing opportunity. They have helped provide education to provide jobs, they have especially helped with educating the communities about HIV and AIDs awareness, teaching about contraception, looking after any mothers with HIV or AIDs and just being a great support. I really encourage you to give, as Tesco would say, every little helps, and you may not notice the difference in a few pounds here, but there, where money is hard to come by, the difference will be such a blessing.
