The £720.00 raised off-line (so far) is being donated to Tenovus another of the great and very hard working cancer charities.
Thanks everyone, its been amazing to see the support that has come in.
So there we go on 27th June we (James Wherlock, James Carver and me) set out from Cardiff bay at 08:15am. It was warm and humid but we kept a steady pace up to Pontsticill (the furthest I had previously been on the trial). From there on, we were into the unknown of Taf fechan forest. The gravel track in the forests were a killer on the up hills and it has to be said that at about 39 miles I was feeling sick as a dog and probably crashing a bit. After taking on alot of fluid and an energy bar I felt a bit more sprightly until I turned the corner and saw the short steep climb to Tornpantu summit. To be honest it was the last thing I wanted at that point....so I pushed it up to the top and then enjoyed the rumble down the seven mile bank (more so than my co-riders on their road bikes).
Got to Brecon for 13:00 and had a leisurely lunch with my fabulous support team, you know who you are and I send out big kisses to y'all. Set off again at 14:00, we decided to take the roads back as the roadbikers were struggling on the forest roads. The hill at the end of Talbont reservoir 20% gradient was another get out of the saddle and push it job, but from the car park at Tornpantu summit (the highest point) we were back on the bikes all the way to Cardiff. The way back was much easier and by taking on more food and fluids on the way back, we got back to Cardiff bay at 18:45.
So in total it was 9.5hours on the bike, my bike computer clocked 110.8 miles and it is fair to say I was a wee bit tired at the end.

Love to you all. I wouldn't have made it without knowing the support that was behind me.
