Eating Disorders are nasty. They impact on every area of your life. And your family, friends, colleagues, the community. Unfortunately help and support through the NHS is very limited. So much of our life revolves around food. Celebrations, day to day living. And when you, or someone you love is battling an ED every aspect of their life becomes a battle. 

I have personally suffered from an ED and recently had someone in my family fight a huge 3 year battle. Involving nearly 2 years in hospital - which was a 4 hour round trip to see them. I suffered emotionally, physically and financially fighting that battle with them. In this journey the BEAT Helpline became my saviour. I would often call them sobbing and not knowing how I could even get in my car to drive home and to my other family members and then work and be a mum, a wife, a friend and run my dance company. Without them I really wouldn't know what I would have done.

Eating Disorders have the highest rate of death among all mental illnesses. Over 25% of suffers will die. This is horrible. And when it happens to a young person, a child, it is even more horrible. Please help me raise money for this amazing charity by wiggling and giggling and swishing and twirling around a dance pole. Release your inner Showgirl!
