Hi Everyone,
Well, I did it! It took me 4 hours 48minutes but I managed to complete my first marathon! After a late start (thanks to the DLR breaking down!) and struggling to get through all the people who walked or wore fancy costumes & back on pace, I managed the 26.3 miles on a day that was the second hottest in the events history. While a little disappointed that I didn't make my pace time of 4.10 I am still extremely proud that I made it across the finish line, safely, in one piece. I feel absolutely fine 2 days later (its tuesday), no trouble walking or on stairs and so it definitely encourages me to try for Paris or Boston next year!
Thank you so much for all your support and your generous donations! Thanks to all of you I have managed to raise well over the amount I was hoping for & am thrilled that Kids will be able to put this money to good use & help very deserving children.
I will never forget the experience of running along the embankment with thousands of spectators cheering you on....
Thanks again,
Shilo xx
