Window Shopping With A Difference...
Two guys
One shop window
One week
What: Watch Jason and Ben transform into living mannequins for a whole week, all in the name of charity
Where: Parliament Street, Harrogate
When: Sunday 23rd October
From Sunday October 23 we will be offering Harrogate shoppers and residents a window shopping experience to remember when we set up home for a week on Parliament Street in the centre of town. We will be working, sleeping and eating in full view of passers-by. We are also going to be given various tasks during our stay and members of the public will be invited to take an active role in the fundraising by helping to decide which tasks we complete!
Saint Michael's exists to ensure that everyone in the Harrogate district gets the end of life care they want, need and deserve regardless of the illness they are living with or the place from which they are receiving care.
We have seen at first hand the good work they do and hope that by doing something a bit different we'll be able to raise A LOT of cash, allowing the hospice to carry on their fantastic work.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Saint Michael's Hospice gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Thank you!
Ben and Jason and TEAM VIDA!
Official VIDA press release - Businessmen Become Living Mannequins For Charity
Two local businessmen are preparing to swap their offices for a shop window next week in a bid to raise cash for Harrogate's palliative care charity, St Michael's Hospice.
Ben Davis and Jason Odle who run digital media-based company VIDA Media, will be offering a window shopping experience to remember when they set up home for a week on Parliament Street in the centre of Harrogate. Working, sleeping and eating in full view of passers-by, the two colleagues will also be given various tasks to fulfil during their stay and members of the public will be invited to take an active role in the fundraiser.
"Our colleagues on the 'outside' will be organising lots of fun activities during the week, and local businesses are offering their help and support, including Philip Lunn of Lateral Property Group who is allowing us to use the building. Living the life of a mannequin is going to be quite surreal but we're happy in the knowledge that any money raised will be going to a great cause," say Ben and Jason.
VIDA are raising money as part of St Michael's annual "You're Inspired" fundraising challenge.
