We relieve poverty and advance education to give children the best start in life

Story

In February 2016 Sean Chapple will lead a team on a 700 kilometre snowkite journey across Lake Baikal in Siberia from its North to Southern shores. Taking all the supplies needed for the journey with them, Sean expects his team to complete the journey in under 30 days; which is believed to be only the fifth time that such a journey has been undertaken.

Clearly visible on a world map Lake Baikal is the biggest and deepest lake in the world, holding 20% of the worlds fresh water. For a few months of each year the lake is frozen and this is when Sean will walk, ice skate, ski and snowkite the length of the lake battling temperatures as low as minus 30 degrees centigrade

About the charity
