Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.
As a member of Wesham Road Runners I am in full training to take part in the London Marathon on 22 April 2007 and the Brathey Windermere Marathon on 20 May 2007.
My daughter Emily-May has been diagnosed with a condition called Sotos Syndrome. It is a genetic condition that causes rapid growth in early life but is also connectd to slowness to crawl, walk and talk. The problem is muscle tone, but as that improves everything comes back to normal. However some children are not so lucky and the rapid advancement in physical nature affects their entire lives. Sotos is a rare condition and 1 in 10,000 new born babies are affected, but until further research into the condition is carried out that figure may grow.
We are thankful to Blenheim House, Blackpool and Alder Hey Childrens Hospital for all the care, help and advice given to us and Emily-May
From donating on this site you will see that the money raised will go to the Institute of Cancer Research. It is under this umbrella that research into Sotos Syndrome is being carried out. The research team is led by Dr Nazeen Rahman and the monies raised, although donated to the Institute of Cancer Research, will be earmarked for Sotos Syndrome.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Institute of Cancer Research & Everyman will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
