My son samuel was born with a rare congenital heart defect called absent pulmonary valve syndrome.  He underwent open heart surgery to repair this in Birmingham in August last year and Edwards Trust gave us a place to stay whilst we were there.  Their support was vital as not only did we have a room to stay in but we also got support from staff, the chance to meet other parents and a place to go outside of the stressful hospital environment.  Oh and they make great cake too!

Samuel will have to undergo other operations over the course of his life so it is vital for us and other parents that these facilities and support exisit.
