Your local Marie Curie Hospice actively promotes quality of life for people with cancer and provides support for their families. The services are completely free to patients. World class scientists at the Marie Curie Research Institute are investigating how cancer develops to find better ways of treating the disease in the future.

My story

Final Update - 3-5-09

Well I returned back to the UK, yesterday after a successful trip and climb of Fansipan in Vietnam. Thanks very much for everyone that has sponsored and supported me in any way. Your support is much appreciated.

UPDATE - Its tuesday 21st April and I am starting to climb the mountain 2mora. We are staying in a town called Sapa, which is 1600m up. We had a practice climb today and climbed to 2300m. We start 2mora at 9am, and have three days on the mountain. Thanks if you have already donated, if not please still sponsor me.

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. So what am I up to then?

In April 2009 I am completing an overseas trek with 'Different Travel' which is the Vietnam Mountain Charity Challenge. I will be raising money for Marie Curie Cancer Care through the challenge. The challenge is a trek through Vietnam and a climb of Vietnam's highest mountain, Mount Fansipan. The trip ends with four days working in an orphanage, The Binh Luc Orphanage, which is located in the Ha Nam Province. This overseas community project is a unique opportunity to make a real physical contribution to the lives of children living abroad, in their local community. The orphanage provides a home for 43 children aged between 1-15 years old who come from disadvantaged agricultural communities.

At home, my fundraising will be helping Marie Curie care for more terminally ill cancer patients, at their ten Marie Curie Hospices or in the comfort of their own home.
