Hi,
I am taking part in the 10 km London race on Sunday 12th of July 2009, running for the charity: ABC (Action for Brazil's Children) Trust. If you want to know more about this charity, please feel free to visit their website: http://www.abctrust.org.uk/
Basically, ABC Trust is dedicated to help the most vulnerable children and young people of Brazil, where 7 million children are on the streets, 450,000 children abandoned, 1000 children die every year. By raising awareness and funding, ABC supports the work of local, community-led organisations who give children the education, shelter, food, and inspiration they need to transform their lives.
Few examples on how the donation will be spent:
£25 pays for food and shelter for one child for a week who would otherwise be living on the street.
£250 provides school teaching materials for a class of 50 for a year.
It is amazing what can be done with few quids.
As you know, I am a professional couch potato, but I have decided to sweat for this cause.
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page and thanks for your support !
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Action For Brazil's Children Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Simon
