***************************************NEWSFLASH***********************************

Marathon No.1 completed...Thank you for everyones fantastic support and thank you Milton Keynes for the wetest, windiest, and most miserable run of my life!

However,  I am super chuffed with the finish time of 4h 37m 55s

Ok, it was not under 4 hours, but we have Edinbrugh in a month...so lets see how much we can take out of my time.

I can go faster!!!!

*******************************************************************************************

Thank you to every one that's sponsored me, my target of £1000 has been breached!

Please, please, please continue sponsoring...it really means a lot...and have you seen the weather for Sunday :)

Thank you Z

*******************************************************************************************

One is not enough, so on the Sunday 27th May I'll be running the Edinburgh Marathon following the  Milton Keynes Marathon.

!!!! Two Marathons in four weeks !!!!

*******************************************************************************************

Why is Zach running?

Back in 2005 when I was but a "beast" of a man I ran my first long distance run a half marathon, which was my biggest challenge of the time. I still remember all that time ago that such a run was but a "fun run" and "not a challenge" to some, this has stuck with me ever since.

I have run a couple of half marathons now and a few 10kms, but have stayed a little clear of the marathon, until now...sod it, why not, let's double up then and take on the "challenge"!!

On Sunday 29th April 2012 I will be running all 26.2 miles of the Milton Keynes marathon, yes...a full marathon, this really is not a fun run.  And as this does not feel like a challenge enough, I am targeting to complete it in under 4 hours....why not???

Who is Zach running for?

My dad has type 1 diabetes and has done so since he was a small boy. Over the past years my dad’s kidneys have deteriorated, becoming less and less effective, functioning at only a small percentage. As a result my dad had to go to hospital three times a week to have kidney dialysis treatment, each treatment taking up to 5 hours and leaving my dad absolutely drained of any energy for the remainder of the day.

Due to the necessary, regular, amount of time taken for the treatment and the resulting lack of energy, my dad found it difficult to find work and lead a so called normal life, but with the help of the Six Counties Kidney Patients Association he is now fortunate enough to be able to complete his dialysis treatment at home allowing him now to have some independence and to plan his own treatment.

Please give generously to the charity I'm looking to raise sponsorship for, the Six Counties Kidney Patient Association, who have already provided great help and support to my family.

Thank you

Simon
