BUT I'M NOW JOINING NATHAN NEXT APRIL THE 22ND FOR HIS 1ST ATTEMPT AT A MARATHON. HE IS RUNNING IN MEMORY OF HIS MOTHER FRANCES SPALL , (my wife susan's sister). PLEASE SUPPORT NATHAN'S ATTEMPT BY CONTACTING AND SPONSORING US BOTH TO KEEP US ON TARGET. TEAM EFFORT IS ALWAYS A GOOD WAY OF NUDGING SOMEONE OUT THE DOOR DURING THOSE COLD/WET WINTER MONTHS. leave a donation and a supporting message. tyvm dougie and nathan.

09/12/11 to those that have not heard yet, i got a place to run with the olympic torch next july. well not a bad start to the fund raising so far. nice donation amount there from steve karia !! although beating 4hrs will be a tough task for nathan's 1st marathon, i reckon £10 per minute under 4hrs would be a good incentive for me and nathan. anyone want to take up on the offer ? i've never run under 4hrs (i'm an old man now) so you could say that it is safe money :-) a teasing offer may see 1 of us crack the 4hr though. 3rd jan 2012 happy new yr to you all. i've just entered an event for may 12/13th, www.london2brighton.com its a run from richmond park from saturday and you have until sunday to arrive. lets hope this run training for the london helps me out some. can i get nathan on it? who knows. maybe someone can offer him some dollars , haha. (dougie,0.)

24/3/2012 well the training seems to be going well with nathan and also myself so far. nathan has told me he has been getting up to 16/7 miles on a long run so far. my self having done several 15 to 18 mile runs now also and covering approx 43/5 miles per week now for the last 5 weeks. throw in the odd bike ride and a swim to not over cook the books on the feet also. today i visited friends 'jackie and dave cobell in tonbridge. jackie loves the cold water swimming throughout the year. she managed to talk me into a swim across and back of the quarry, in the fields behind her house. the temperature was about 9 or 11 degrees approx most likely, and a very nice (lol) experience of what i used to get up to on my english channel swim training. something very rewarding about swimming in cold open water and feeling free.
