Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On the 4th October I jumped out a plane at Langar airfield in Nottingham. But don't worry, it was a tandem jump with the Red Devils - so it was more like being pushed out the plane! The freefall was 40 seconds long but seemed to last only a few - what an experience! See the Video link on the left <<
I did this to raise funds for the charitiy Disability Snowsports UK – who help promote equality and opportunities for people with disabilities to take part in snowsports.
The work that they do is amazing, and having worked alongside DSUK at events like the Crystal SkiFest I was totally inspired to see firsthand the work that they do and the range of adapted equipment they use to get people out on the mountains. However with such a range of logistical challenges and adapted equipment it is always very expensive to provide these oppurtunities.
The team is great – please do check out the video I posted about them.
I will be jumping alongside Sir Steve Redgrave who was responsible for talking me into it! As well as members of DSUK and Crystal who work closely with the charity.
My target is £1200, unfortunately I will not be able to do the jump if I do not raise the minimum so any help would be so much appreciated or I will have spent a lot of nervous energy for nothing!
I have between now and September 7th to keep control of the nerves, but in return for a little sponsorship I will allow you to see the video footage to have a right laugh at me being completely terrified! I have goosebumps writing this!
I would love you to help me raise some funds for DSUK, I have never done anything like this before but this charity really touched me and is so close to something some of us love to do – ski!
