We fund life saving medical research to beat the world's biggest killers.

Story

Martin and Sarah are teaming up with the Lonergans to raise money (and a few laughs) for the British Heart Foundation.

On 17 June, while all our friends are safely in their beds, the Slades are going to be bickering on bikes from Nunhead to the start point at Clapham Common. From there we will grouch, grumble, growl and trundle nearly 50 miles to Brighton seafront. Martin has assured Sarah that it's downhill all the way until Ditchling Beacon....tchyeah...right.

Martin will be speeding along on his feather-light, hand-built road bike: Sarah will be trundling along on Mildred, her trusty mauve hybrid (pictured on her first commuter run to Canary Wharf above). We've got the silly shorts, and the helmets, and we promise to stop at all the red lights...

We're mostly doing this for the sheer hell of it, but we'd also like to raise some money to support  The British Heart Foundation. They  do great work in raising awareness of heart disease, and fund some brilliant research (we also forgive them for not giving Sarah a job, because we're like that...).

Heart and circulatory diseases are the world’s biggest killers. That’s why the British Heart Foundation exists. By funding research, we can help find treatments and cures that could save lives. With your donations and the awe-inspiring science we fund, we make science fiction a reality, together.
