Two and a half years ago a very special man came in to my life. Through my now partner I met Michael Anderson, her father. Michael is both Deaf and Blind, a dual sensory impairment he has lived with for most of his life. This year, to celebrate his 70th birthday he has decided to take on a special challenge to raise funds for DeafBlind Scotland.
Michael is the proud dad of three grown up children, granddad to three fabulous grandchildren, worked as a statistician and set up a market garden before retiring to his home near Falkirk. In that time he has undertaken several challenges including rowing the Union Canal and abseiling down the Forth Bridge last year. This year he has decided to turn his attention to Scotlands biggest mountain, Ben Nevis. Inspired by his determination, fortitude, humour and down right stubbornness I will be joining him to try and make this dream come true as well as raise funds for DeafBlind Scotland. The man is an inspiration so please give whatever you can to make this very long day out on a mountain truly worth while!
