Hi Everyone.
UPDATE: On August 17 jole rider told us that the Night Baton Relay will not take place as planned on August 22. It seems there just weren't enough teams taking part this year. They plan to stage the same event on 17 July 2010. We hope it will be possible for our team to come together for that event, in which case we will be doing what we said we would, just not when we said we would.
In the mean time, we are very grateful to everyone who very generously made a donation. You are the team's school friends, relatives, relatives' friends, neighbours, and school teachers past and present. That money is now with jole rider and will be used to send more bicycles to Africa. But we will completely understand if you would prefer to have your donation returned since we will not be cycling all night long like we said we would be. You can either contact ahay@centennial.co.uk or jole rider directly (since only they can authorise JustGiving to return the donation).
On August 22 at 8 pm we will start cycling in relay around the airfield at Hullavington, and we keep cycling until 8 am the next day. The event is called the jole rider Night Baton Relay and its purpose is to raise money for jole rider, a charity dedicated to getting our unwanted bicycles to Africa to help the children there get to school.
Last year we cycled around the airfield 176 times and raised £185. We hope to do even better this year.
