Raising money for Breast Cancer Haven

More than 45,500 - that's around 1 in 9 women - are diagnosed with breast cancer every year in the UK. Diagnosis and treatment can have a huge emotional and physical impact on a woman and her family. As well as physical symptoms such as pain, nausea and hair loss, people often experience feelings of shock, fear and anxiety. <p> Breast Cancer Haven is a registered charity providing free support services to help them cope. Tailored to an individual's needs and their medical treatment, the charity's programme of care focuses on the whole person - to help them feel better physically and emotionally and live a healthier life. <p> There are 3 Havens - in London, Hereford and Leeds where people can come and benefit from the expertise of our specialist nurses, therapists and counsellors and also from meeting others going through a similar experience. People who can't get to a Haven can call and talk to our specialists, get information from our website or receive a copy of our DVD/CD and online support programme called Breast Cancer Haven at Home. <p> Our services are free of charge and available to anyone who has been affected by breast cancer and those close to them. In the absence of any government funding, the charity is dependent on charitable donations and fundraising events to continue delivering this vital service.

I would like to dedicate this page to my Auntie Susan,Uncle David ,Auntie Sheila and my Grandad. They all lost there fights with cancer and are very sorely missed. I am doing this for them. Love Always x

As many of you know I (Sonya) was diagnosed with breast cancer in June 2008 aged 27 years old. I have gone through surgery, 6 courses of chemotherapy radiotherapy, i am currently going through my Herceptin treatment. I was told about Breast Cancer Haven when i was at my lowest point. The amazing services and support of this fantastic centre has helped me get through a really difficult time. I dont think i am able to put into words just how grateful i am for the support they have given me, so i wont ha ha, i will just try raise as much money as possible for this amazing charity. I cannot describe the difference they make to the lives of those affected by Breast Cancer.

Me and some of my amazing friends (and wicked brother) who have also been an incredible support, have decided to do a skydive to raise money for this wonderful charity. Crazy i know, but thats us all over!!! So PLEASE PLEASE donate what you can to this fantatstic charity to help me make a difference the way Breast Cancer Haven makes a difference to Breast Cancer sufferers and there families everyday.

I also want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has got me through this period of my life, I would not have got through it without my amazing friends and family who have been by my side every step of the way, I love you all so much.

We have just completed our skydive, we all absolutley loved it and would like to say the biggest THANKYOU to everyone who supported and sponsored us, it was a well worth cause and amazing experience.
