The Special Yoga Centre is a registered charity and yoga studio in North West London. Our aim is to make yoga accessible to everyone, regardless of age, disability, economic status, ethnic background, or religion. In fact our mantra is 'yoga for everyone' and we certainly live up to it with classes for every stage of life from pregnancy and babies to teenagers to yoga for active ageing.
To further fulfill this goal, we offer weekly donation yoga classes to adults living with MS and other physical difficulties, as well as regular Community yoga classes aimed at those with a low income.
We are also the UK home of the Yoga for the Special Child Programme LLC, offering yoga therapy to infants and children with special needs, including Downs Syndrome, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, autism, ADD/ADHD and other physical and developmental difficulties.
We are currently helping over 350 children with special needs per week in a variety of sessions including one-to-ones, small-group classes, schools, and in community play schemes. Please take a moment to watch this short video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9w1A4OHPy3Y
