SAND - the fine debris of rocks........ Now here's a thought - imagine a six day, one hundred and fifty five mile endurance race across the most hostile sands in the world - the Sahara Desert. The Marathon Des Sables translated Marathon of the Sands, quite rightly, is referred to as 'the toughest foot race on earth'. Chris Spellman is about to trade blood, sweat, toil and tears for the soles of his feet, a few toenails and quite possiblly his sanity. Like-minded maniacs unite in 120 degrees farenheit, thrashing sand storms, dehydration/intravenous activity, uneven ground, relentless conditions, a plethora of blisters, more blistering heat and that's just the tip of the dune. This is a true test of stamina and mental fortitude.....and if that's not enough weight to carry on your shoulders all participants have to run the whole route with enough food, water, clothes and equipment to last for six days. As he takes on this mammoth feat, Chris is trying to raise much needed funds for Epilepsy Research and he needs your help to reach his target.
