Gwalior Childrens' Hospital Charity is working to help and provide for poor, needy, destitute, disabled and underprivileged esp. children, women and old, the most vulnerable of Gwalior and Chambal region through Gwalior Hospital for Children and Women, Ophthalmic Centre, General Hospital, Rural health centres and Gwalior mobile hospital to provide a wide range of specialised medical care and health educational services in Gwalior and Chambal region, its slums, rural and remote areas. In addition GCHC supports children in existing schools and Orphanages as well runs a School for special needs and is building an Orphanage- Snehalaya to accommodate 200 of disabled and destitute children, details on http://www.helpchildrenofindia.org.uk

My story

Sponsor a Square and patch up India!

Young and old all over the country,( c/o Jam packed full of Life, Super Jam), are knitting hundreds of square patches. We need you to sponsor a square (or even a couple of squares!) for as little as £1. Every square sponsored gets stitched on to a blanket by us, team sewathon. These hand made blankies will then personally be taken to Snehalaya Orphanage in India, and given to disadvantaged children. For every child to get a blanket we need approx. 500 sponsored squares.

These children who will receive the blankets are truly amazing. Most have disabilities and have led a very difficult life living in government orphanages, yet they are full of sparkle. Now, with the opening of Snehalaya Care Home, they have real opportunities for a more dignified, independent, safe and happy life. These kids are super inspiring.

The money raised will be spent on supplies for the children and orphanage, and to continue and support building work enabling the expansion of Snehalaya, to rescue more children.
