Thank you for supporting Cycle Africa.

The team is cycling more than 12,000 miles, through nearly 30 countries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.  The journey will take us one whole year to complete and will be the most physically and emotionally demanding event any of us has ever taken part in.

But this is much more than an adventure and a challenge, it's a journey with a purpose.  Our aim is to raise awareness and funds for street children projects working with incredibly vulnerable children in Africa.

The team members are covering the vast majority of the expedition expenses out of their own pockets and the remainder of the costs will be covered by our generous corporate sponsors!

This means that every penny will go to the street children projects we visit along the route, so please dig deep and give generously, safe in the knowledge that your contribution will make a massive difference in a vulnerable child's life.

On average, it costs just £200 to take a child off the street and support them and get them back into school, reconnect them with their family or new carers, provide them with vocational training so they can make a living.  It doesn't cost much to give a child a second chance and a brighter future.

Two of the street children projects we are aiming to fund from our £100,000 target include:

- building and equipping a new rehabilitation and reintegration centre for street children in Burundi that provides a halfway house, a community and vocational training for children who have nothing (£15,000)

- training a former street child to become a social worker in Durban, who will work with vulnerable children living on the streets of the city (£10,000)

Thank you,

Craig, Loretta, Gareth, Scott, Jodi and Martyn (the Cycle Africa team)
