This sponsored row is being organised by Kingston Grammar School and many boats, children and parents will be involved.

I have been rowing for 12 years (I started because of the sponsored row!) and had a heart attack in May last year ('08).  The sponsored row should have been last September (and I would not have been able to do it) but had to be put off to this year.

I have been back rowing since May 4 and now the big test: can I row 80 miles over two days in an 8?  We have to negotiate 30 locks and row 40 miles each day.  Day one is Radley school to Henley (the heart of rowing).  Day two is Henley to Hampton Court (where the boat club is situated).  As I'm in an 8 I think I'll be coxing for some of the time so I get a rest of sorts.
