In November 2006 - in support of the work of the International Childcare Trust (ICT) - I will join a 6-day Sponsor Cycle in Cambodia, pedalling 400km from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

Based on a similar experience last year in South India, I am expecting a lot of pain, tears and reflection on the meaning of life.  Nevertheless, having visited an ICT project last year, as well as a village from where the project children come, I know that every turn of the pedal will be worth it.  Without the services provided by these projects, the only option for many of these children is acute poverty and its associated conditions.
