DEAR FRIENDS

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.  After two years of being self-employed, I've decided it's time to drag myself away from my work and worries about the future, and to do something for our fellow Earthlings once again.

On 2 October 2009, in support of the International Childcare Trust (ICT), I will cycle 400km through Tanzania, starting at Dar es Salaam and finishing five days later at the foot of the Uluguru Mountains outside Morogoro.  Apart from the sheer distance, this ride will be particularly challenging, as we'll be doing a lot of off-road biking, and we'll be camping outside at night.

At the end of the ride I will visit the Faraja Trust Fund that works in partnership with the ICT, and will also stay there for an extra week to work with the children and English teachers there.  The Faraja Trust Fund has three projects in Tanzania: an education centre for street children, a monthly day centre and testing clinic for children with HIV/AIDS and finally the Naema Yamtoto Project in the slum areas of Morogoro that aims to teach 150 children on a daily basis.

I have raised over 80% of my fundraising target (3,000 pounds), thanks to generous sponsors.  Please help me to raise the rest by sponsoring me on this page.  Please give as much as you can, but remember that no amount is too little.  After all, Barack Obama managed to raise millions for his presidential campaign by collecting a mass of just little amounts.

By sponsoring me, you help the activities of the ICT, an organisation I fully support, who works with several partner organisations in Africa and Asia to provide services, protection and a chance in life to some of the world's most vulnerable children. Watch the video to find out more about their work  (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2_kzc0MsqG8).  You can also visit the ICT website on http://www.ict-uk.org

Thanks once again for your support.  These children need your help now more than ever.

Love and peace.

Lisa
