Hi -
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Between October 14th-23rd this year I will be cycling coast to coast in Sri Lanka for the International Childcare Trust - almost 500km in five days...
I'm doing this trip because it really is a good cause: International Childcare Trust works with local partner organisations which are committed to providing practical support to at-risk children and women in Sri Lanka, India, Kenya and Cambodia (more info at www.ict-uk.org).
ICT is not a massive international organisation with huge administration and advertising costs. Your donations will directly help to trace families of displaced children, to provide employment skills in order that children without families can support themselves - and, most importantly, to offer these vulnerable kids food and secure shelter.
In addition to the donations through this page, I have raised close to £800 offline, mostly from events including a Sri Lankan curry night at Hitchcock's restaurant in Hull and a pub quiz at the Gardeners' Arms. On September 15th I will be holding another event at the John McCarthy Bar in the Hull University Union.
I'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has donated so far, on and offline. Every donation makes a difference and if you donating via this site (and you are a UK taxpayer) an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Many thanks for your support and generosity!!!
Kirsten
