Story
I’ve always wanted to take on a charitable challenge and through the British Heart Foundation Bournemouth Pier to Pier Challenge (Sunday 14th July 2013) I’ve found something that is relevant to me.
My little brother Josh is always ‘encouraging’ me to get fit and with my wedding coming up in August what better way to get in shape than by training for and then completing this open water swim.
Why the British Heart Foundation and why a target of £210?
Josh is currently studying in the US, he spends his days getting ‘ripped’ in the gym, partying on the beach with an assortment of young ladies and generally having a great time. It almost wasn’t like this, as Josh was born with a paper thin left ventricle, meaning that he should have died at his first breath. Luckily Josh’s heart has recovered and is now at full strength – he’s also going to be 21 this year (that’s where the £210 comes in; obviously £2100 would be better).
So I thought I’d take on this challenge to get fit in time for my wedding but also in honour of my little brother Josh (David you're also great too).
Any donations regardless of amount are much appreciated.
Let the training begin!
