On Saturday 9th May 2009 Standing Together organised a charity bike ride to highlight issues of domestic violence. The intention was for participants to cover 112 miles in one day, that is one mile for every woman who dies every year as a result of domestic violence. The aim of the event is to emphasise the prevalence of domestic violence within UK society, ensure people understand the damage caused by domestic violence and to raise funds for a domestic violence coordinators network. On the day 23 cyclists took part and covered a total of 1584 miles. The participants and volunteers were brilliant and the support everyone has given has been amazing. Thank you for helping to support one of the hidden tragedies of our society. We are very near our target of £10K. This page will remain open for another month so please feel free to donate.
