Well we did it last year and raised a fantastic £5,175 for Care International and we are at it again but this time for our chosen charity the National Literacy Trust.
The Lakes Team Challenge EventThis is a timed event in four stages over two days.
· Stage one - Navigation exercise over the Coniston fells to complete an 80ft abseil then exit from the quarry via a long wet tunnel walk.
· Stage two - Pick up funds during a navigation task to the north end of Coniston Water where the team will pick up canoes and various canoe equipment.
· Stage three - from the north end of the lake, rig up a canoe raft and paddle or sail south against the clock to the final stage.
· Stage four - with the funds gathered during stage two, the team group must purchase equipment to build an improvised raft which will safely take you around a set course on the lake.
As you can see, we will be put through our paces and stretched to the max, but we don't care as its all in the name of a good cause.
