Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
The Great North Run Well, we made it round. If you saw any of the coverage, you will have seen it was a beautiful blue sky kind of day. The event made me a bit emotional. The support was great from all the people watching. After we crossed the Tyne Bridge we went past this factory where all the workers were peering over the fence with their hard hats on - at the same time the Red Arrows were buzzing about above us and trailing smoke. That combo, for some reason, got me choked up. We got on the telly, I'm pretty sure. Dave spotted a camera crew after about 8 miles and they interviewed him and JP. When we finished, the BBC said it had been a good little interview. The only glitsch was the hotel fire alarm going off at 4.40 am on Sunday morning. Some enjoyed watching Chris Hoy emerge from the hotel in his dressing gown. Can't say it did anything for me though. Here's a reminder what all this was about: The Lily Foundation:
I'm raising money for The Lily Foundation which is providing both funding for those working in the field of Mitochondrial Disease and other metabolic disorders, and support for those affected by it.
Mitochondrial Disease isn't something you catch, it's something you're born with and it is incurable and deadly. The victims are kids and babies, just like Lily. Lily died in April last year.
I know Lily's family and I'm 100% confident that this is a very worthy cause run by committed people. The money you donate will be well spent and will ultimately make somebody's life better. Donating: Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Lily Foundation gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
