Long standing teacher and Head of Geography at Greenshaw High School, Steve Stone, died over the Easter break on Saturday 23rd April 2011. Mr Stone had recently been receiving treatment for cancer and the condition worsened significantly over the Easter break.

Mr Stone worked at Greenshaw since 1976 and was considered by students and staff as a friendly, warm, caring and energetic teacher. As well as teaching Geography, Mr Stone was responsible for organising and leading many of the school trips and expeditions that took place throughout his time at the school.

Mr Stone had indicated, as a result of his love of the sea and fishing in particular, that he wanted any donations to be directed to the RNLI.
