The Geoff Thomas Foundation is committed to fund the essential research nurses and scientists at five major leukaemia units across the UK. This will not only extend treatment options to patients for whom no effective treatment exists but also create a team of committed doctors and scientists who can work together to crack this disease.

My story

Thanks for visiting this page. Now I've reached the ripe new age of 50 I thought it time for a new challenge!

The 50 Mile Challenge is a 52.4 mile run across the Kent countryside on 19 July. It It's far further than I've run before. Your support has helped me pull me through the final miles on the day when it all began to hurt - a lot.

Well I did it the whole distance in 9 hours and 12 minutes. I finished 19th out of a field of 118. Here's the link to my video diary of the day http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R4eGKpTpC8U

My other training races building up to this event are also linked here. I ran 27 miles around Croydon and Bromley on 19 April http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdfq2M4o_RU and I completed the 1st Halstead & Essex 30 mile race on 10 May , finishing in 4 hours 18 mins. I ran 37 miles on 20 June and a further 32 miles on 26 June long the Thames Path http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXHaO1S6b4g as part of the training build up.

This is a charity founded by Crystal Palace FC legend Geoff Thomas, supporting cancer and leukaemia.
