My story

I'm taking part in this year's Great North Swim on Lake Windermere, in aid of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) - the charity that saves lives at sea.

The volunteer crews of the lifeboats and the charity’s lifeguards are vital when it comes to staying safe on and around the shores of the UK and Republic of Ireland and I appreciate what they do and how committed they are.

The RNLI are there every day of the year.  Taking part in this 1 mile open water swim, is an enjoyable thing to do but more importantly it is a great opportunity to support their lifesaving work by raising some money, something I'm very happy to be able to do and would encourage you to do the same.

If you wanted to undertake a similar challenge in aid of the RNLI, visit www.rnli.org.uk/swimamile to learn more about how you can swim your mile however you like, all in one go, as part of a group with your friends, or individually over several weeks.  You can swim at your local lifeguarded beach or in a swimming pool of your choice.

Thanks for visiting my page - please dig deep and support the RNLI.
