Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
The NSPCC has a vision of building a society where all children are loved, and where no child is forced to endure the pain and misery of abuse, or a day when they no longer die at the hands of parents or carers. They run 180 projects, from Young Witness Support schemes to therapeutic services, which help countless children across the country. They also run ChildLine, the free 24-hour helpline for children and young people. Every day thousands of children call ChildLine, however due to a lack of funds only half of those will get through.
Your support can help us to raise much-needed funds to continue the invaluable work the NSPCC is doing to protect our most vulnerable children. To give you an idea of what your money could be used to fund:
· £15 could answer five calls to ChildLine.
· £55.62 could pay for a set of family puppets which are used to give a child a way of talking about people who have caused harm.
· £210 could pay for a child to have five in-depth counselling sessions, providing them with someone to turn to.
· £420 could pay for a year's free phone call costs for one ChildLine counsellor, meaning that a child can contact the service in the knowledge that it will not show on the phone bill, allowing them to be as honest as necessary.
John Colebrook, Oonagh Luing and I will be taking part in many fundraising events between now and November to help raise our target of £8625. The final challenge will invlove spending 14 days trekking through the Himalayas to Everest Base Camp and then summitting Kala Phattar.
We will let you know of events we are holding this year and hope you will be able to attend.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: NSPCC will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor us now!
Many thanks for your support.
