Dear all, Can you recognise the guy wearing glasses in the picture above - a happy but unsporty dude? Yes, it was me 2 years ago! All I pursued then was to solve maths problems all day long even when Jessica Alba was on TV!
However, I have since wanted to change, from a nerd to a cool nerd. I have ‘mathematically’ applied the sequence of physical exertions with increasing challenge to my training scheme. Up to now, I have tried out pistol shooting, table tennis and then 5-a-side football. I can now certify with myself that sweat is ‘quite’ smelly and salty but I still cannot claim to be a cool nerd! And guess what; to challenge myself for this COOL-NERD title, I will be running 10km in the heat of this summer to support One World Action. And I have to run at least another 70km during trainings prior to this run to avoid collapsing during the race! Yeah, I know... lots of sweat and smell, but it's really worth it! Therefore mates, I hope that I can count on your support in order for this nerd to achieve his worth-while title!
You may wonder why One World Action. Well, coming from Vietnam, I have witnessed how poor people are in deep need of opportunities to transform their lives. One World Action works directly with their partners in Asia, Africa and Latin America to empower the disadvantaged and help them find ways to improve their own lives. OWA also lobbies and campaigns in Europe to make sure that the voices of their partners in the third world are heard in rich countries. The charity is extremely efficient with 93% of revenues going directly to projects. I feel deeply motivated to support such a cause and hope that you will also extend your help!
Thank you all very much!
Wanna be a cool nerd,
Steve Tran (If you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.So please sponsor me now!)
