My story

I might have deserted the Dorset Renal Unit for a new life in t' Ambulance Service but my heart keeps drawing me back (bank shifts on POW Ward!!).

My 3 years service in Renal taught me what a huge impact kidney failure has on each patient -AND their family. Please everyone REALLY think about what it would do to you if you had to spend, probably, 8 hours of every other day in hospital to dialyse. How would you hold  down a job?, who gets you in and out for that treatment, how is that transport cost met, who looks after the kids?? -the list of obstacles to be overcome is so daunting! AND don't start me on how long it might take before a transplant kidney becomes available....

So after the running and cycling something different to encourage you all to sponsor my all too small effort -

The Great North Swim, Lake Windermere, 12 Sept 2009,

a one mile open water swim (in a pretty cold water-mass!)

NOW YOU KNOW HOW TRULY MAD I AM PLEASE SPONSOR ME!!
