*******NEWSFLASH******* After just over three hours of gruelling phyisical activity over the London Triathlon course, the contest was too close to call. Dave and I were in different heats of the race so were unaware of the other persons exact time so it was left to the official timings for the verdict. Results as follows: Dave: 3:02:30 Mark: 3:03:28 So with just 58 seconds separating us, Dave wins! The scores are now one all with all to play for in 2009... Hello and thank you for taking the time to visit our justgiving page. We know that you'll have been sent many begging messages about various charity events recently, but every few pounds that Sparks make goes towards vital research. As you may know, Dave and Mark took on the London triathlon on the hottest day of 2007 and came through with flying colours, with Mark winning bragging rights with victory on the day. However this year Dave has been taking things seriously, with several witnesses reporting that he has actually learned to swim for this years event in between bottles of red wine and curry. Mark has hardly managed to train at all, instead preferring some serious international business drinking which has hampered preparations somewhat. All in all this years challenge promises to be seriously close. For the uninitiated, this is a full on Olympic Triathlon, just like they'll be doing in Beijing in a few weeks and the same as they'll be doing in 2012. That means a 1500m swim followed by 40km on the bike then 10km running. Easy. Anyway, whether you know us through Stewart Golf or go way back to a previous life, we really appreciate your support, kindness and generosity.
