Doing more than you'd think... your local hospice

Why your donation matters

Saint Francis Hospice is a centre of excellence in the care of those with life limiting illnesses. Our team of specialists provide practical and emotional support for adults of all ages and give specialist bereavement support to family members from as young as 20 months.

Most of the people we care for like to stay in their own homes, therefore we provide support that allows them to do that. We also bring patients into the hospice for specialist care and control of symptoms; over half of these patients are able to return home again.

All our services are provided free of charge, but we need to raise £20,000 every day to fund these vital local services. Donate today and make a difference!

Case study: donations in action

Kelly-Ann is a 32 year-old mum with 4 amazing children. She was diagnosed with stomach cancer in 2009 and has been battling the illness ever since.

"Saint Francis Hospice is the only place I can get upset, I can’t do this in front of my four amazing children. They’ve been through enough and seen too much so I have to be strong for them. That’s why I love the hospice so much, it’s the only place I can be me, it’s the only place that I can be Kelly. Without this place, I don’t think I’d be able to cope."

Kelly starting attending day hospice in 2011.

"Without the support of my friends in the day hospice, I wouldn’t be able to battle on. They really understand what I’m going through as we face our illnesses together. The caring nurses and Sue, my counsellor, help me express my feelings and get stuff off my chest...it gives me the physical and emotional strength to carry on fighting."
