Miss Taylor has come up with the idea for the staff to take part in the Adidas 5k. We have started training each week with some of us running (or should I say plodding) and some walking. You may have seen us going round the roads nearby the school each Wednesday.
We have decided that the Charity that we are going to raise money for is one which has a close connection to the school. It is First Touch, that helps raise money to support premature & sick babies that are born at St Georges Hospital. The reason we have decided to support this charity is that at least 2 pupils that attend St Matthews School have graduated from the Neo Natal Unit at St Georges and are living proof of the tremendous work that the unit does to ensure that these very vunerable babies survive.
At present First Touch are trying to raise enough money to buy 20 specialised cots for the unit, each one costs £1500. We are hoping with the help of our friends, colleagues and families we can raise enough money to fund at least one of those cots which will then have a plaque in recognition of our achievement.
Well today we did it.....some of us ran whilst others jogged or walked. Emma managed to be the fastest (what a shock). We all had a great day and looked very fetching in our Tutus !!! and hopefully we will help raise enough money to make a difference to lots of little people that need help.....
This is where you can help........we would like to ask if you would kindly support us by donating some money to this very worthwhile charity.
We would all like to thank you for your support and if you want to come and cheer us on PLEASE do ......
Love & thanks
