Story
After the tremendous response to our run in 2005, when my brother and I raised just over £4,000 for Cancer Research UK, I had little choice other than to volunteer to run it again. Its a fantastic cause and the wear and tear on my legs was of little consequence.
Again, I ran in memory of my dear sister Hazel who passed away in September 2004, raising funds to continue the fight against Cancer so please donate as much as you can to help eradicate this awful disease.
My training schedule was somewhat affected by a bad back in July and August, nevertheless - having got my excuses in early - I aimed to beat my time in 2005, somehow.
STOP PRESS....
The race has been run and I completed it in 2 hours 34 minutes and few seconds, see the certificate alongside. A full 27 minutes faster than last year. Having trained much harder in the weeks leading up to the race than last year it was actually an enjoyable experience - and will probably lead to me doing it again in 2007!
Thank you for your support, even after the event!
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cancer Research UK will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Many thanks for your continued support. Please help me reach my target of £3,000 including Gift Aid.
