’s sixth form has just returned from its second visit to . We re-visited many of the places we first made contact with in 2008, when we raised enough money to build a new classroom and to pay for the digging of mechanised boreholes to bring clean water to isolated communities. On returning this year, it was amazing to see the difference our efforts had made. In addition to the £750 on Justgiving for this summer's trip, we also raised an incredible £38,000 in school to pay for a toilet block, a mechanised borehole and two classrooms for St Jerome’s, the very poorest school we visited in 2008. It is great to know that as I write in October, building work has already started.
Eurico Afonso, Daan Aroo, Charlotte Bogic, Vicky Chappell, Marjorie Gler, Hannah Godber, Philip Hope-Shannon, Gabriella Iannelli, Matthew Hadley, Clare James, Marie Hirrell, Kieran Petha, Ben Sutherland, Jess Vara and Georgia White all made the journey along with Sarah and Neil Lockyer, Georgina Royle, John Colley and Dan McGlynn from the ’s staff.
