On 19th June, 8 bleary-eyed cycling rock stars from Mint Digital will be throwing their legs over their bikes and riding the 54 miles between London and Brighton.
The team consists of:
Adam Rogers: Adam has been riding bicycles for as long as he can remember and recently completed a 25 mile training ride which left him in pain for a week. He plans on making it through the extra 29 miles on the day by visiting some of the "nice pubs in that part of the world".
Andy Appleton: Andy was a last minute replacement on the team, handpicked due to his previous experience on the ride. He has been riding bikes since he was 4, but was quick to point out his preparation for last year’s event left him in pain “mainly in the saddle area”
Colin Miller: Colin has been posing as a hipster on single speed bikes since the tender age of 5. He describes his current physical condition as “worse than it was” and is hoping he “will probably finish” the day. He is planing getting in some more practice before then.
David ‘the athlete’ Biggs: David has been riding bikes since he was but 18 months old. His longest recent ride of late is just a stretch over 6 miles but that does not knock his confidence: “I have the advantage of knowing the Sussex terrain like the back of my hands […] Knowledge is power.”
Edd Sowden: Probably the most experienced cyclist he has been riding bikes for as long as he can remember. His perfect weekend consists of 70 mile bike rides into the Surrey countryside. His role on the day will be to coax / support the slower members along the course and fetch water bottles from the team car.
Paul Fedory: Paul, residing from Canada, reminds us that cycling around mountains and lakes is in his blood. Only last year he took time out from work to train around the lakes of Norway. His current training consists of having “Ice cream for breakfast!” but has a die hard attitude: “I’m going to do it”.
Kejia Zhu: Kejia is the dark horse of the team. Learning all he knows from the elders in China he poses-ninja like bike handling skills. More used to riding "DH singletracks in Thailand" he claims his fitness is "OK in short bursts".
Tom White: Tom has been riding bikes since the age of 4. He has been using his evenings to cycle 17 mile rings around central London. Tom is gearing up for the ride by getting rid of his road tyre fixed wheel bike and building a full suspension knobbly wheeled mountain bike. He plans on dealing with the pain of cycling 56 miles with “excessive alcohol consumption post ride”.

Any sponsorship is appreciated, a donation of £10 - £30 would be greatly appreciated, but nothing is too little or too much, every little helps.
