The British Red Cross helps people in crisis, whoever and wherever they are. We are part of a global voluntary network, responding to conflicts, natural disasters and individual emergencies. We enable vulnerable people in the UK and abroad to prepare for and withstand emergencies in their own communities. And when the crisis is over, we help them to recover and move on with their lives.

My personal message:

I had initially thought that my first marathon wasn't going to be that tricky but it transpires that the motorbikes in the photo are not competing.

On a serious note I'm asking you to help me raise funds for The British Red Cross (www.redcross.org.uk) by sponsoring my run in this years London Marathon. This charity responds to crises and emergencies in the UK and around the globe providing support and relief to those in need, the most recent appeal being to provide much needed aid to those lives impacted by the violence that has engulfed Kenya. Please feel free to give very generously to this very worthwhile cause.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: British Red Cross will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
