Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
My mum suffers from psoriatic arthritis. Psoriasis affects about 1 in 50 people in the, of these 1 in 14 also develop psoriatic arthritis. It can happen at any age and currently the causes are unknown.
My mum has swollen and painful joints which makes it difficult for her to do everyday tasks that most people take for granted. Over the last few years this has got gradually worse and she now needs a walking stick and help to get around. But she never complains and just tries to get on with things as normal.
So, I’m raising money for The Psoriasis Association (http://www.psoriasis-association.org.uk/arthritis.html), the leading organisation for people affected by psoriasis. The money raised will help fund research into the causes, treatment and care of psoriasis.
So, I’m doing 2 things:
1. Running the London Marathon (26.2 miles)
2. Not drinking a drop of alcohol for 115 days (1 January – 25 April)
I’m not sure which is the toughest! What I do know is that all the pain I will have following the marathon will (hopefully) be gone after a few days, unfortunately my mum doesn’t have that luxury.
So, please sponsor me anything that you can afford.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Psoriasis Association gets your money faster and, if you’re a taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
